Eduardo Mendieta discusses race relations, student activism, and world philosophies in Koper

Professor Eduardo Mendieta, from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, came to the University of Primorska to lecture on philosophy.  He delivered three lectures: "The Hegelian Aftermath & the Emergence of Pragmatism", "The Cold War, the Eclipse, and Resurgence of Pragmatism", and "Pragmatism, Multiculturalism and the Postethnic America" for philosophy students.  Additionally, he held a structured discussion open to the public at the American Corner on May 8th.  The topics were so interesting that he drew a crowd of more than 65 people - mostly students.  For nearly two hours Professor Mendieta answered questions from a moderator as well as from the audience.
