Embassy Staff  Attend the FIS World Cup Skiing Competition, Kranjska Gora, March 8-9

Kranjska gora, the largest and most famous ski center in Slovenia, hosted the World Cup in Alpine skiing the weekend of March 8-9. The best skiers in the world competed in slalom and giant slalom on the steep slopes of Vitranc.  U.S. Embassy personnel braved low temperatures to cheer for the U.S. team. The Americans did well: Ted Ligety won the giant slalom (GS) on March 8th and Bode Miller finished 7th overall in the GS.
